Meet our Community...
Here are some of the folks involved in our Medicine Circle family.

David Kirchhof, Caretaker, Host and Mentor
Medicine Circle grew out of David's vision for a place of healing where people could connect in meaningful ways with nature. David purchased the land in 2002 as a land trust. Since then he has been the primary caretaker and host to many who have visited for personal and family retreats, nature awareness training, workshops, youth camps and weddings.
An elder for the Twin Eagles Wilderness school, David's background includes nature awareness education, natural healing modalities and  Permaculture Design certification. David has mentored and led workshops at Medicine Circle on Nature Skills & Awareness, Yurt Building, Ringing Cedars Philosophy and Practice, and Herbal Medicine.

Daniel Kirchhof, Trustee

A “street corner naturalist” and mentor to various communities and camps, Daniel Kirchhof trained himself by spending time in wild places and under the tutelage of the Kamana Naturalist Program. A much beloved instructor, family member and friend, Daniel’s life work includes the co-creation of Life-affirming Legacies that encourage a profound awareness of how we live our daily lives, interact with each other and relate to our place on earth.

Daniel brings to Medicine Circle additional experience in building interesting structures, living in a tipi, gardening, foraging, fishing, brain-tanning buckskin--and of course, telling stories and playing music around the campfire at night.

Debra Williams, Grandmother & Teacher

Our beloved Debra, of Sagebrush Tipi Work,  is an artist who has been making tipis since 1997. As a child, Debra was deeply influenced by her Grandfather, Kenneth Victor Williams, a Colorado artist of Ojibwa descent and a long-standing Honorary Member of the Lone Feather Council of Colorado Springs. Growing up, she was surrounded by the soul-stirring images and stories of Native American traditions. She sustains a deep and abiding reverence for the Way of Beauty, the Good Red Road.

Debra helped found the Inland NW Women's Council and is involved with the work of the 13 Indigenous Grandmothers. She carries wonderful grandmother energy and shares teachings in the areas of the Moon Lodge, Women's Journey, Herbalism and Ceremony.

becky kemery, Webwork & Teacher

Becky helped design our Permaculture gardens and updates our website. She is best known as the author of YURTS: Living in the Round. You'll find her online at www.YurtInfo.org, www.LivingintheRound.org and on her Yurtlady facebook page. She teaches occasional courses at Medicine Circle--including Herbal Medicine Making--and writes and speaks about cultural change.

Joshua
Joshua Walters, Trustee
Joshua grew tall in Pennsylvania's Appalachian mountains hunting, fishing and exploring with his father and grandfather "Pap". His love of and connection to the earth have traveled with him his whole life, whether swimming with pirhana in Peru or camping with grizzlys and timber wolves in Yellowstone country.

Josh’s earth awareness deepened through studies at Tom Brown Jr.'s Tracker School, classes with Jon Young on Bird Language, Tracking and Mentoring, and as an instructor with Twin Eagles Wilderness School. Known for living from the heart and bringing sunshine wherever he goes, in his work with children he “brings the earth to life" as an unforgettable mentor.
